Workshop leader – Sandy Zelasko

Grand Teton National Park

INTRODUCTION

After scouting this location in early May for the last three years, I couldn't wait to share it with other wildlife photographers. Our home base is Moran, Wyoming where you will be comfortable in your own log cabin style room. From there we will photograph spring wildlife throughout the day in and around Grand Teton National Park and locations east.

It is typical to see large numbers of elk migrating back into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and encounter grizzly and black bear emerging from hibernation, hungry, searching for whatever meal they can find. If lucky, we may see cubs of the year!

Young Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep can be photographed romping up and down cliffs as they learn to navigate rocky terrain. Shiras moose will be visible throughout the sage covered plains, the males just beginning to grow a new set of antlers. Mountain bluebirds, American robins, Gilded flickers and many more bird species are migrating through the area. Ruffed grouse are present and we will photograph trumpeter swans at a rescue.

Native plants are beginning to bud, snow still covers higher elevations and days remain cool. Crowds are non-existent. It is a wonderful time to be photographing the movements and migration of native wildlife.

No matter what photographic level, you'll find support and expert photo advice to help improve your craft. This group is limited to just three participants and will fill fast. Each photographer will have a window seat and quick access to a door for those "exit the car fast" photo opportunities!

Wyoming is the place for reliable wildlife encounters and this spring workshop won't disappoint!
